BRYONY LLOYD
Bryony Lloyd, a big feeler and obsessive, aims to honour the small but significant parts of life. Raised in Lewisham and now based in Manchester, Bryony discovered her love for music over and over again – in hearing her Grandma play piano, singing in school choirs, live traditional folk music and her Lily Allen CDs. Bryony’s music aims to bring solace and calm, lingering in what feels ‘unsayable’, cushioning listeners and allowing them to break apart and fall back together.
This year Bryony released her debut EP ‘Aerial’, a gravelly soft place in the middle of a busy industrial city and produced by London-based producer Sean Rogan. The EP received praise from Fresh on the Net, Illustrate Magazine, and Cheers to the Vikings, described as ‘memorable and sincere.. (showing) a level of maturity that’s both refreshing and rare in a debut.’
The EP also gained radio play on BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Scotland, the first lyric of 4am described as ‘a lyric that hit straight to the chest in the most delicate and beautiful way possible’. -JSKY BBC Introducing Manchester. Other achievements include notable gigs at Band on the Wall supporting Olive Jones, The Castle, YES Basement and making people cry at her shows.
